Tres Hombres im Hafen von Gudhjem

Voyage 2025

About 'open' and 'closed' technology

Our destination is Bornholm. The Baltic Sea island was the scene of an accident caused by fatigue. This is a common problem in shipping. It calls into question efforts to power ships with nuclear reactors for the purpose of decarbonisation.

Gourmandising on Bornholm

Once we arrive in Gudhjem on Bornholm, we unload the wine. Our crew and helpers from the village stick the ‘sailed by Fairtransport’ labels on the bottles, which Tres Hombres transported from La Rochelle to Bornholm for the harbour bar Provianten.

A special Sunday

We have to interrupt our journey from Bornholm to Den Helder in the Kategatt due to strong winds from the wrong direction and anchor on the east coast of Zealand.

Between happiness and doubt

Work begins to prepare the ship for its annual voyage across the Atlantic and back. Several major projects need to be completed before the departure date in mid-November: the construction of a new anchor winch, two new yards, and the replacement of several planks. Volunteers gradually arrive to help with the overhaul. At the same time, new scientific findings raise doubts as to whether all this will be enough.
