Voyage 2026

A strong westerly wind is keeping us moored in the harbour at Blankenberge on the Belgian coast. These are the very conditions that caused us to turn back in the Kattegat last autumn to wait at anchor for more favourable winds.

What manifested itself on land as an unusually early heatwave brought us calm conditions and light, shifting winds in the English Channel. The Tres Hombres is now moored in the port of La Rochelle, where we have loaded around 20,000 bottles of organic wine bound for Copenhagen.

The quick voyage from La Rochelle to Copenhagen aboard the Tres Hombres ends with plenty of time in port. This allows for a visit to the Hawila in the port of Holbaek, a cargo sailing project inspired by the Tres Hombres, though one that aims to do many things a little differently.

Favourable winds provided ideal sailing conditions for the journey from La Rochelle to Copenhagen. However, the resulting waves proved a challenge for some. The deck was wet throughout, and kitchen work became a struggle.
